When I was growing up, my dad focused a lot on outward beauty, dictating how long or short my mom could wear her hair, made comments about my weight, etc. It's caused me self-esteem issues that carry over even to this day. I've tried to instill focus on inward beauty to my daughters and although I carry the struggle, I feel like I have mostly conquered it. All of my obstacles and struggles have made me into the warrior woman I am today. I turned 41 at the end of July, and have finally learned to be comfortable in my own skin.

I'm a cancer survivor and mother of five, ages 16 to 28. I've been with my husband for over 20 years. We have been through a lot together and I'm proud of the people we've grown up to be together.

Every human body is beautiful. I'm fascinated with women's bodies and all our differences. Beauty is our own unique qualities, compassion and kindness. Hell yeah, I think I'm beautiful! Life is too short to care about being that "perfect" beauty on the outside. Love yourself and others will love you back!
